I'm so glad. Almost all the poems I post come from my favorites folder. But Ross Gay is really terrific.

"And I looked at him, admiring the sickle of his beak." What an astute expression. We have quite a few vultures around this part of Georgia. I never thought of their beaks as sickles until now. Thanks for adding Ross Gay to this lovely series and for including the link to his site. So much more to read, enjoy, and marvel at.

I don’t think I understand how you’re choosing your themes

I don't really have a theme usually. I just choose poems I like. I only do a series when it several poems occur to me on the same theme. There are a lot of vulture poems that seem really powerful to me. Also crows. Generally my choices are random.
